Pokemon
Pokemon Platinum was the very first video game I got into, and my first taste of roleplaying as my school friends and I pretended to be Pokemon trainers. I've played every mainline game since and watched the DP and BW anime. The spin-off games have a special place in my memory, with notable mentions going to Conquest, Mystery Dungeon, and Ranger. I am still a Pokemon fan to this day, and I play a lot of Pokemon Unite, casually and in tournaments. Roleplaying PMD characters is another way this series continues to be a part of my life.
Earthbound/Mother series
Where to even begin here?? This game introduced me to my personal inspiration, Shigesato Itoi. The playful, loose storytelling with hard-hitting themes and scenes speak to me as a creative. Also, the music are all bangers.

Virtual Pet Games
My niche gamer interest is the virtual pet genre. A love of cats introduced me to the DS game Petz: Catz Clan, which had the pet care, breeding mechanics, and collectable aspects that are core to every virtual pet game that has held my interest. Furry Paws, a dog breeding sim, became the introduction to simulated genetics-based breeding, which shaped my VPet game tastes forever. The more complex the breeding, the better.
An honourable mention goes to Acitius, too, which leans more towards the NeoPets style of virutal pet (not much breeding, mostly focused on collecting creatures and minigames). It stood out for having a relationship system in which two pets could date/court each other and get married. I created two custom pets on that site and married them together.
Comics and Mixed Media

Homestuck
Reigning over the 2010s internet, this delightful narrative came to me during my last years of high school. I started reading it far past its glory days, and after long nights of reading and flash games, I had an unforgettable thought-provoking, queer, and transformative multimedia experience. Vrisrezi for life and Dirk/Jake is the toxic doomed yaoi we all needed. Epilogue Roxy Lalonde is my personal gender hero.
One of my creative goals is to design a medium of storytelling that combines visual arts and written language. Comics are exactly that, but with more emphasis on the visual art. Whatever Homestuck is, the narrative moves forward more due to the written language (but the visuals are still a necessity to understanding what is happening). It gets filed as a very critical part of my creative journey for that alone.
